Indyref Take 2 ~ Anti Scottish Establishment

At the risk of turning into a pseudo political rant blog I must admit extreme disappointment with the uneducated response to a second Independence referendum for Scotland. The fake newspapers and BBC outlets all decried Scotlands chance for freedom, even STV insinuated that to offer voters a chance to decided based on the changed situation was a poor mistake.


To concentrate on all media would be an endless task, instead let me pick out Scotland premier news program : STV News. In particular an article proudly stating that thousands of Scots had signed a petition to block a second Referendum. At the time the article was posted, ironically the petition was in essence pointless; not because I disagree with the point, simply because the "UK" Government (Westminster in England, obviously!) were already intending to discuss the matter.

The petition was also a numerical farce. A total of 216,822 Signatures from across the whole of our 'United Kingdom' compared to Scotland's actual population of approximately 5.295 million. Understandable that this could be considered a fair representation of the Scottish opinion? Only a 'fake news' site could possible tout this trivia as truth.

But such atrocious 'Click Bait' headlines drew in the crowds in droves to spout their disgust at Scottish voters wanting another Referendum, I'm afraid I couldn't resist.

In hindsight I should have kept my thoughts to myself, although most of the comments were supportive or involving the 'BBC' style bias ; a lot were very insulting.

People from all over the world passing comment, but some seemed very patronising, so I made the problem worse by replying. Yup this extended the diatribe further.

In summary I agree that it's great that so many people are following and interacting with politics. However, there are far to many people willing to shout vilifying beliefs without any real knowledge.


For the record I'm not counting knowledge gained from reading Tory supporting Newspapers, or (apparently) Scottish media outlets supporting another countries rights over their own.

You know if Scotland was taken into consideration and not ignored during every political debate, if we weren't patronised and lied to , if we weren't threatened by propaganda and if we were given all the facts... in fact stuff that.... "Better Together" is a democracy the people can chose new leaders, after all they are OUR public servants not money grabbing, pocket lining, business schmoozing celebrities. We have a choice and Scotland chose a majority SNP Mp's yet we are ruled and dictated by Westminster... Heck, we even have to ask permission to vote on who we want to rule us.
