Box of OMG ~ Paradise Wildlife Park Limited Edition!

Box of OMG is from the individuals who brought us Box of Awesome . Aimed primarily at girls and advertised primarily through social media sites, this is another sure-fire popular craze. Companies have saw the proof of advertising in the first Boxes and have been more generous with this one. The box is filled with goodies, collectables and digital options.

.

This particular edition is the Paradise Wildlife Park limited edition, handed out on the 22nd and 3rd of August in the zoo. The zoo is based in Herfordshire and has great travel links, and despite the high entrance fees, access to over 400 animals and regular events makes it a worth while day out for the whole family.

The box I received wasn't one of the more special ones with a SpongeBob SquarePants talking plush toy inside. I also missed out on a signed copy of Jacqueline Wilson's new book Diamond, as well as attending the launch event.

Now onto the main event; The first thing in my Box of OMG is the Jacqueline Wilson book Hetty Feather. The story of a young girl who was orphaned as a baby in London in 1876. Her early years are spend in a foster home, with two foster brothers and a vivid imagination. So when they sneak off to see a travelling circus, she begins to wonder if one of the circus members could be her mother. She then returns to the orphanage to begin her education. After the relative freedom of her early years the strict environment makes her life more of a struggle. Her search for her mother continues in what can only be described as a longingly Tracey Beaker way, indeed Jacqueline Wilson appears to enjoy the theme and attached hopeful exuberant parental daydreams.

Whilst I was initially misled into believing I was lucky enough to receive a signed copy of 'Diamond', turned out to only be a themed postcard! It details that the book Diamond is the third in the 'Hetty Feather' series (the second is Sapphire Battersea), and it will be released in hardback on the 26th of September.

Next we have the Wearshare bracelet. A free sample from the company to showcase their custom Wearshare bracelets which use your Facebook and Instagram photographs to create a personal picture bracelet for you and a friend. There's an easy to follow instruction leaflet and a lovely gold sticker, you simple chose 7 pictures and order. A firm favourite in this house, having been previewed in the previous two boxes, and great for exchange with friends of all ages.

Then there's the OMG marketing paperwork, with information on the regular video unboxing Competitions competition to win an iPad mini. Two stickers and a couple of business cards, with a code to get bonus points and increase your chances of receiving a box.

Also a mini STABILO  Boss pink highlighter, from the latest design set of Ocean Friends, it has a cute Crab design on one side. Not to be sexist, but perhaps mixed colours would have been better. In the Box of Awesome the boys got a blue shark one!

I would have preferred the green turtle one. This isn't the first time Stabilo has launched a range of funky designs. In the past there's been wacky faces, monsters and black ones with Halloween pictures, and releasing just at the end of the Summer Holidays make it a guaranteed seller.

The almost obligatory Moshi Monsters tattoo sheet was almost ruined in the attempt to open the packet. More care will be in the next instalment, which I'm sure will find their way into the next box. A short note those tattoo wearers, when the tattoo begins to fade and get tatty, remove with oil. Any kind of oil (cooking oils quite good) and a coarse sponge work much quicker than anything else. This comes with an added bonus, not having dirty looking skin for days and no parent scrubbing at you every time you come in range.

These little tricky things were lurking in the bottom of the box, under the masses of pink paper, so didn't make the original photo shoot. A Glow in The Dark bracelet with connector, a pack of One Direction / 1D stickers and a Cathy Cassidy pamphlet for her new book Coco Caramel.

Having featured in a previous Box of OMG Cathy Cassidy's pamphlet is
an interesting way to inform of new releases as one side is a poster and other contains information about the books as well as an easy cupcake recipe.
The One Direction stickers were exactly what you would expect from the Panini, a collection of random images destined for a collectors album or a young girls school books. I'm afraid I can't name any of them (something I don't exactly count as a lost), but perhaps a lost fan will stumble on my page to aim my plight!

Last of all these are the latest entry in the magical box of goodies. Aces Laces is one of the latest business supported by StartUp Britain and features in the Kings Road Popup Britain store in London. The idea being to reinvent fashion in our grim recession bound times by bringing some 'snazzy' to our footwear. At a pocket money price of £2.50 for a single set and £5.00 for a triple pack, even the postage is cheap; 99p for first class and the money saving amongst up can revel at 89p for second class.

Supplied in bright stripy blind bags, series one contains 25 designs, shown below, with two special editions. 'Glow in the Dark Graffiti Rabbits' and 'White Holographic Glitter'.

Another selling point of the laces is to wear them in general fashion as necklaces, hair accessories and bracelets. Something instinctively grasped by the average 2 year old.
As a fun fact the bits at the end of laces are called AgletsAces Laces all have rainbow coloured 'Tips' with the branding stamped on them. So you can be sure you're getting the real deal every time.

In summary (if you're still with me!),  this box proves that Box of OMG are only ever going to get better. The recurring inclusion of a book is a definite positive and I do adore the cute mini highlighters. However for me this time the overall winner has to be Aces Laces. Such a simplistic idea and yet so modern and unique. There's going to be an order placed very very soon, although if anyone wants to make sure I get the 'Deck of Cards' and 'Retro Tapes' I would be a very happy bunny!

    1. Very generous of you to share, unfortunately the site you linked to appears to be nothing more than a list of other sites. Lots of websites relating to stocks... In Swedish no less. Hence I'm not sure how this particular blog post would appropriate for link sharing.
