Bzzagent Danone Danio Yoghurt Review

I'm a +BzzAgent  +BzzAgent Den  +BzzAgent Denise and love the benefits of testing new products for free and being the first to find out
about new gadgets and gimmicks.

This campaign is for +Danone Danio yoghurt, and involves 3x 85p-off coupons and 5 x 50p pass along coupons valid at Tesco for friends and family. There is no actually product with the Bzz kit, thank goodness could you imagine the mess! Danone is emphasising its healthy eating through its products especially the yoghurt ranges, they are also the company that owns +Activia, Shape and +Actimel.

There are 6 flavours in the new range of 160g single portion pots; Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry, Passion Fruit, Cherry and Peach. It is made with twice as much milk as standard yogurts and strained to give it a really thick texture. The straining process removes the watery whey and leaves behind a super thick yoghurt that’s high in protein. Each pot is packed with 12g (26% of your GDA), which contributes to the maintenance and growth of muscle mass. All varieties are either 0% fat or low fat, they range from 125kcal to 159kcal and have no preservatives or artificial flavours.

I chose my 3 favourite flavours to test out; Strawberry, Cherry and Peach. First up, the packaging is zingy and bright and each of the flavours are easily identifiable. The zero/ low fat aspect is clearly marked and the high protein is well advertised, ideal for any health conscious snacking needs.

The yoghurt itself is very thick and quite a strange texture, more like a cheese spread than a creamy yoghurt. The taste is quite bitter and definitely not sweet in any way, but this is where the chunky fruit bottom layer adds appeal. The first one I tried was Peach, the naturally sweet syrup and chunks of fruit really enhanced the bitter yoghurt. I really enjoyed this one and would consider buying it again.

The Cherry was extremely sour and the fruit did nothing to take away from the tang of the yoghurt. The Strawberry was also very sour and had the added bonus of a lovely water layer between the yoghurt and the fruit. Despite mixing the yoghurt with the fruit, neither of these flavours lived up to what you would normally expect. I was left feeling disappointed, the texture being so thick and luxurious, I had assumed that this would be heavenly. It seemed too dry and bitter to be a snack or treat and left the impression of healthy eating affectionados again abandoned (flavour wise) in the search for dietary goodness.

Perhaps my sweet tooth isn't designed for this level of healthy protein filled goodness and the price of each pot being 85p honestly left a nasty taste in my mouth. For that you could buy a few bits of fruit, surely just as healthy? Sprinkle it with oats or fresh fruit and it might be nicer (I would be inclined to go with chocolate sauce and sprinkles!). The yoghurt seems to live up to its claims of being excessively thick, the texture is incredibly decadent, but I would be happy to leave this product for the health conscious.

  1. Most women still find it confusing and some may even wind up
using disastrous colors and techniques. Most of the time, women check out salons to obtain their full makeup done given that they can't undertake it for their own reasons.
This is without saying that a majority of women want
their eyes to truly come out and appearance sexy.

    1. I must say the fact that your post is completely unrelated to the blog content speaks volumes, but thanks for choosing to share your irrelevant link for a spam site on my page!
