Foreo Luna Mini ~ Fantastic Face Care

Being an inherent tomboy, I tend to view 'essential beauty gadgets' as little more than a consumer con. However my hormonal skin meant that drastic measures had to be taken. After hours of boredom sifting through marketing propaganda to get to the real people reviews. It was an expensive choice (that still makes me wince thinking about it!), but the Luna Mini had the most favoured reviews, and the lowest price.

Described as a 'mini facial', the Luna Mini from FOREO combines non abrasive silicon nodules, with T-Sonic™ (transdermal sonic) pulsations to gentle and deeply cleanse the skin. At least that's the marketing. We've all seen the sonic tooth brush adverts, so the theory should transfer to skin fairly easily (not that I'm advocating cheating and just using a toothbrush!).

The colour didn't matter too much to me so I went for the girly 'petal pink', only because the turquoise blue was out of stock. It came beautifully packaged in a simple, classy perspex box, no un-openable plastic wrapping here! With its charging cable tucked inside the limited instructions. I presume that to have spent nearly a hundred pounds on something they naturally expect you to have done your research, or be willing to follow one of the many online tutorials for it. If you're interested in the particulars the video's here, feel free to mute, there's no speaking just the lift music jingling away in the background.

The Luna Mini has two different speed settings, dependant on your skins requirements, the slower one ideal for sensitive skin or around the eye area. Using with face wash (wash not scrub), the light on the mini will flash every 15 seconds to let you know that its time to move onto another area. One thing I'd missed in the reviews was that the mini will also pulse every 15 seconds, great for soap filled eyes (who washes their face with their eyes open anyway!).

I do wish I'd known in advance though, however the fright I got allowed me to test the durability of the Luna Mini. It does bounce, and seems impervious to hard knocks, not that I would guarantee the durability of them or advise dropping on purpose, £100 is a lot of money!

Whilst the larger Luna specialises the nodule arrangement for different skin types, the mini is the same for all the colours. The 1,300 nodules spread over two sides area are effective for all the planes of your face.

However it is recommended that if you've got oily skin you use the thicker touch points on the reverse side, as they cleanse the skin even deeper. The thinner touch points are a lot gentler, and best for sensitive or dry skin. For precision cleansing, use the thicker touch points grouped at the top.

With 300 uses per charge and a usb charger cable its ideal for a fortnight abroad and its more travel orientated size, makes it great to tuck into a make up bag. Mine arrived partially charged, and lasted me 2 months.

After one use my skin is touch-ably smooth (even The Controller noticed so it must be good!), with much less shine and a natural healthy glow. After using it for a week I look radiant, like I never managed when I was pregnant! I do feel happier and more confident, its a noticeable difference. I love that it comes in a range of colours, to suit all personalities and bathrooms, thought the gold and platinum luxury versions, would have to wait for a lottery win.

Worth every penny, and I can not recommend it strongly enough, super soft skin gets very addictive!
