Box 8 of Box of Awesome's bundle of goodies is full of lots of popular bits and pieces, from sweets to books from popular television shows. I received the Mega Box this time, and there's a competition at the end so keep reading.
First up the obligatory boy orientated football cards, by Panini these are from the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brasil range. I was lucky enough to get 2 packs this time each containing 9 cards, with faces even I know.
Next we have 2 packets of Haribo, and the BOA sticker's and cards. The card have an awesome point code on the back, which can add up to a free box, so well worth collection.
There is also a large rubber wristband from Pyramid International. Featuring the Amazing Spiderman it is one of a series of collectable wristbands, unfortunately I can find out nothing about the collection or the series other than an eBay page with these images. Click here to see for yourself.
In keeping with the red and blue Spider-Man theme I also received a Zomling blind bag. A range of ugly monster creatures / pencil toppers which purport to be highly collectable. Perhaps the latest playground craze.
There is also a leaflet from VidaYum offering free years subscription to their library of movies, ebooks and games. Aimed at educating children by enhancing their social and emotional intelligence. A safe site for children to play and learn in.
Also included is a leaflet for the stage show of Scooby Doo. A musical adventure touring the country (and not just England!), from the 5th of April to the end of August. For more details and bookings check out the website or their Facebook page.
The book this time jumps straight from the world of television, specifically CBBC. Hank Zipzer, follows the adventures of an young boy at school and his struggles with dyslexia. The first 2 books were released in March with 2 more to follow in May. The books are written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver.
Most famous for playing the character The Fonz (a TV show called Happy Days for all you younglings!), Henry Winkler has struggled with dyslexia his whole life, not reading a novel until in his 30's. He is cast as Mr Rock, Hank's teacher, in the television series. The book is an honest and humorous reflection of the learning difficulty, sharing the same stories as the television series make it easy to follow for all ages.
There is also a leaflet detailing a competition to win an Xbox 360, kinect and a set of signed books at http://www.hankzipzer.co.uk/awesome.
Here's a little competition to win the book;
The Curtains Went Up and My Trousers Fell Down
a Rafflecopter giveaway
The winner will be contacted by email and has one week to respond. If there is no response after stalking by email, Facebook and Twitter, I will redraw a new winner. Thanks guys and gals!
