I had a slight delay with this post, my Box of Awesome wasn't delivered in the same batch as everyone else's. However after a quick tweet (Yes I'm on Twitter as well! ), the lovely folks sorted that out and rushed me a box of goodies. This months felt a lot lighter than previous bundles, and this was confirmed when I opened my goodies. Despite a couple of new things the rest seemed like leftovers from previous editions.
Star Wars Force Attax, another collectable trading card game from Topps Cards, made another appearance again 4 normal ones and a holographic card. The holographic card being Yoda, far and away the best Jedi, honestly made me squeal a little with excitement. One day I will be able to act my age, not any time soon, but one day!
Another recurrence in Box of Awesome are Soccer Suckers, a collectable range of 40 football players. They are supplied in a football patterned plastic ball (about the size of a table tennis ball), with plastic banner sealing it. This time around I anticipated the trouble opening them and started with the scissors. Inside is a curiously detailed rubber mini figure with a suction sticker, these are great for any flat surface, or just foreheads.
Great for football fans or collectors in general, at the moment they are only available for 5 English teams, but the site says more teams are on their way. Arsenal, Chelsea Football Club, Liverpool FC, Manchester City FC, and Tottenham Hotspur. Also I found it a bit strange that the Americanism 'Soccer' was used, when the sport is obviously football and British football teams to boot!

There is also an exclusive speaking and signing event for Waterstones being held at St. James Theatre in London for more details click here. The book in this BOA is by Anthony Horowitz, and was an exclusive Box of Awesome sample, available to the public on the 12th of September. The prequel for the Alex Rider series, it is the tenth book written in the series. Focusing on the back story of the featured assasin and Alex Rider's nemisis, Yassen Gregorovich.
In the mean time, here's a nifty book trailer to get you really excited.
Also contained was a blind bag of a pre-release Micro Predasaurs DNA Fusion. With 25 different models and cards to collect the series covers three types : Stone Age, Jurassic and Cretaceous. With the kooky idea of splicing the DNA of two different dinosaurs to create a unique styled single reptile. About the size of a Lego man these are a curious new collectable.
A leaflet for Paradise Wildlife Park is also included, and will grant access for one child when accompanied by a paying adult. A particularly nice touch as it was the location for a special hand out of boxes by BOA's partner Box of OMG. The disadvantage to this great offer is the location, just out side of London isn't local to everyone!
Again the inclusion of is Trash Pack stickers. Clearly marked with a 'sample' sticker on the back of the pack the company hails from Australia and arrived in the UK in August. With the scenes detailing rotting rubbish and gross, overflowing bins, I'm still at a loss with this collection. Recycling campaign/ or childhood grossness?
This to the side, it was nice to see some new brands. Though I think that Box of Awesome gave us less this month, I am hopeful that their brand support will continue to grow and give us a bumper pack next month. Just in time for Xmas.Last of all is the obligatory BOA paperwork and stickers. There is also a flyer was for Swapit, the safe ebay style bidding site designed specifically for children and contains a bonus 100 points when you sign up. Unfortunately it is the same code that was included in the last box, so subscribers to BOA miss out on the 100 points.
Considering I first heard of BOA from advertising on Swapit, I'm quite happy that they've continued the partnership. Though I wish they'd put new codes on the flyers.
