Bzzagent Auchentoshan Single Malt Whisky Review

Whoop a boozy Bzzagent review perfect for a Covid lock down tipple, Up today we have the AuchentoshanAmerican Oak Single Malt

It's been a while, but this local whisky is beautifully presented and renowned for being the only Scottish single malt distillery to triple distil its whisky. A tradition which has been ongoing since it opened in Dumbartonshire in 1823.

Retailing for between £25 and £30 in most supermarkets, and more importantly in these Covid times; online.

A light an almost subtle colour, this whisky brags of notes of coconut, vanilla and toffee. Perhaps my taste buds maybe a touch stunted, but I struggled with this.

I did definitely get the scent and flavour of toffee and an orangey citrus, but this was heavily masked by the flavour of oak. I understand it is one of the more gentle Single malts ideal for new comers to the elitist world of Whisky drinkers (Yup we all know that snob from the bar who insists your undereducated if you can't smell the same note as him!).

Despite rarely venturing into the wonderful world of my national alcoholic beverage, this is a bottle I would be happy to give as a gift or share with friends. I'd even be fairly confident that they would be impressed with my choice of tipple.

My Bzz pack from the revamped bzzagent has suffered with a distinct lack of coupons to hand out to friends and family, which would have been ideal as I can't exactly have a troop of people visiting to smell the aroma with the current quarantine.

The Auchentoshan coming from the Gaelic 'Corner of the field', the Dumbartonshire estate has 6 owners since it was established in 1823 and is currently owned by Beam Suntory.  It sits amongst the other famous brands like Teachers, Laphroaig, Jim Beam, Courvoisier, Midori and even Sourz

Bzzagent  used to be a prolific WOM (word of mouth) company with a UK specific site, however they were taken over a couple of years ago and since then have massively neglected the UK site of the franchise. Fingers crossed they sort out the dashboard so we can access campaigns and surveys at some point this year.
