Aces Laces ~ The New Fashion Accessory

For those of you whom regularly peruse my little corner of the internet, you may recall Aces Laces from a previous post (Box of OMG ~  Paradise Wildlife Park Limited Edition). For me they were the outstanding product, such a simplistic idea and yet so modern and unique.

Well when I claimed I was going to put in an order I wasn't joking, though it has taken me a while to type up this post. I could make excuses here about my hectic life, but I think we should just move to the juicy content.

Aces Laces is one of the latest business supported by StartUp Britain and features in the Kings Road Popup Britain store in London. It is the brain child of Alexis Hutchings from Southfields in London, the idea being to reinvent fashion in our grim recession bound times by bringing some 'snazzy' to our footwear.

At a pocket money price of £2.50 for a single set and £6.00 for a triple pack, even the postage is cheap; 99p for first class and the money saving amongst us can revel at 89p for second class.
There is a special Christmas Stocking offer on now for a five pack for £10, 2 triple packs for £12 and even a bulk buy option of a full box of 25 for £40. The larger sizes ideal for class mates and after school clubs, or just to own them all and have a variety to choose from. The price for a 5 pack or 2 triples jumps the postage to £1.98, but this stays fixed even if you buy both and there's even an option for standard parcel shipping when including the full box for £4.50. Considering how much +Royal Mail have raised their prices, by this is very reasonable.

Supplied in bright stripy blind bags, series one contains 25 designs (shown below), with two special editions: 'Glow in the Dark Graffiti Rabbits' and 'White Holographic Glitter'. Completely swappable and ideal to start competitive collecting amongst children and adults alike.

At the moment my collection only numbers 6, with the intention of an increase in Stocking fillers in the pipe-line. Provided I don't feel the irrational need to 'check' every pack, there should be a few happy school friends in the near future.

My personal favourites have got to be the tapes, maybe its because I'm old enough to remember them with rose tinted nostalgia. Plus I still have a fully functional Walkman, so perhaps retro really is the way to go!

Guaranteed to be a talking point; my daughter chose the Robot Dog laces to enhance her beaten up roller skates. I wasn't so sure about the odd colour scheme but she loved them, though she was positive that they were smiley faces and couldn't see the dog face at all.

Another selling point of the laces is to wear them in general fashion as necklaces, hair accessories and bracelets. Something instinctively grasped by the average 2 year old.
As a fun fact the bits at the end of laces are called AgletsAces Laces all have rainbow coloured 'Tips' with the branding stamped on them. So you can be sure you're getting the real deal every time.

I can not recommend this product highly enough: simple, affordable and fashionable. What more could any parent or child want!
